Construction, Material Costs – On the way down? Where do we go from here?

D&F Constructors Inc.:   Many projects in both residential and commercial have seen a huge price hike over the past 12 months to the rare success of some that held large quantities of product or failure to those who had to pay these premiums.   This past May 2021 we witnessed record highs for materials but as we are making our way through Q2  with the end of June in sight we are seeing a reduction of some materials.  Great News!   As the prices subside subtlety, the industry is still plagued with long lead times for many products matched with a challenging labor market.   So, all the more important to meticulously plan and schedule your projects based on these current industry hurdles.    These record highs have challenged nearly every trade within the industry making it all the more difficult to plan, execute or even trying to complete your projects on time and on a budget.   A recent article worth sharing from the WSJ speaks to the hurdles we are seeing in our industry!  Stay tuned, D&F Constructors Inc. is eager to share important industry news here!
